Impactivize Mission
Summary
Impactivize is a fiscally sponsored nonprofit journalism project focusing on diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility initiatives in the private sector – DEI or by any other name. Impactivize’s mission is to provide accurate, robust reporting on corporate diversity initiatives, and to counter the false narrative that says DEI and merit are at odds. Reporting shows that DEI and merit-based employment practices are in alignment and fuel business success.
To this end, the Impactivize DEI Employer of the Day™ list, with more than 200 companies, reporting on corporations that state commitments to diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives. (The Impactivize list only reflects companies’ commitments to DEI, not their political affiliations, donations, or other corporate practices.)
In the face of overwhelming pressure and threats from our federal and state governments, as well as from shareholder activists, “think tanks,” and social media influencers, the list of companies standing firm on DEI initiatives is growing daily. Leaders from within corporations have submitted their own companies for the Impactivize Employer of the Day™ list via the Impactivize “Suggest a company” button.
Impactivize provides original reporting on anti-DEI proposals presented at corporate annual general meetings (AGMs), reporting on proxy statements and shareholder voting results in real-time. In 2025, anti-DEI proposals have overwhelmingly lost in shareholder votes at Costco, Visa, Apple, John Deere and Disney.
Studies from McKinsey and others show that diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, when well executed, have a positive impact on the bottom line. Impactivize provides data-driven evidence to show how DEI initiatives positively impact corporate performance and merit-based hiring, and debunk false narratives put forth by conservative think tanks such as the Claremont Institute and Heritage Foundation.
Impactivize’s five core impact areas:
1. Consumers. In alignment with the NAACP’s Black Consumer Advisory, the Impactivize DEI Employer of the Day™ list serves as a guide for consumer spending. NAACP President & CEO Derrick Johnson said in a statement: “We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again–diversity is better for the bottom line.”
2. Shareholders. Impactivize attends annual meetings of shareholders and was first to report on shareholder votes rejecting anti-DEI proposals at Apple, John Deere, and Disney. Upcoming shareholder meetings facing anti-DEI proxy votes include Levi Strauss, among others.
3. Corporate recruiters and job seekers. Impactivize highlights corporations that are recruiting to fill diversity-related roles, sharing the DEI Job of the Day™.
4. Education. Impactivize curates news items, quotes, commentaries and insights that serve to educate the public about the strength of DEI, diversity, equity and inclusion practices in the private sector.
5. C-Suite Executives. For CEOs, CMOs, CHROs and chief diversity officers, Impactivize emboldens corporate leaders to stand firm or augment diversity and inclusion practices. Strength in numbers.
